In the Community
Roger Lang’s long held personal philosophy has included community involvement at many levels throughout his life. Lang has an active history of non-profit associations and roles played over the past 20 years, including up to current events in conservation.

Pollinator Partnership
Lang chairs the board at Pollinator Partnership, established in the mid '90's. Relatively few realize the importance of this collection of little creatures, which produces one-third of the food consumed by all humans. Multitudinous factors including global warming, introduction of exogenous species, misuse of pesticides and habitat fragmentation give rise to great concern for our common plight with pollinators.
Catalina Island Conservancy
Founded in 1972, the Catalina Island Conservancy is the oldest and largest private land trust in the state of California. It protects nearly 90 percent of Catalina Island, including 50 miles of unspoiled beaches and secluded coves—the longest publicly accessible stretch of undeveloped coastline left in Southern California. Catalina Island is home to more than 60 plant, animal and insect species found nowhere else in the world, and is visited by more than one million people annually. More than sixty thousand school children each year visit camps on Conservancy lands.
